Funding initiative "Innovative SMEs: Photonics / Optical Technologies" in the framework of the programme "Photonics Research Germany"
With this funding initiative, the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) aims to strengthen the innovation potential of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and to make research funding within the program "Photonics Research Germany" more attractive, especially for SMEs applying for first-time. For this purpose, the BMBF has simplified the application and approval process, sped up the consultancy services for SMEs, and redesigned the funding initiative thematically less restricted. Applications of universities and and extra-faculty institutes are eligible in the framework of joint research projects. The assessment dates for project outlines are April 15, and October 15, every year.
