DFG: Funding terms and conditions more flexible
Scientists funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation) will be able to spend the funded amount in the future even more independent and completely oriented to the promoted project’s concrete needs. To achieve this DFG has rearranged its funding terms and conditions in one essential point and made them more flexible.
Due to this rearrangement the decision whether to use the funded amount for personnel, material expenses or equipment can be in the future made by Universities and research institutes themselves. The so far carried on form known as position granting will be replaced by a system of free redisposition of funds. In consequence DFG is going to grant lump-sum payments instead of positions.
