Humboldt Talent Travel Awards
 
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) has designed the Humboldt Talent Travel Awards to actively help its international research alumni return to HU. The awards are open to research alumni of HU working abroad, in tandem with a young researcher from their university. Each Humboldt Talent Travel Award grants recipients a maximum of €5,500.

Humboldt - Princeton Strategic Partnership: Funding of bilateral collaborative research and teaching projects
As part of their profile partnership, Humboldt-Universität and Princeton University annually invite applications for some €300,000 for funding joint teaching and research projects. The prerequisite for project funding is a joint application from members of Princeton and HU at their respective home universities.

Funding initiative "Innovative SMEs: Photonics / Optical Technologies" in the framework of the programme "Photonics Research Germany"
With this funding initiative, the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) aims to strengthen the innovation potential of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and to make research funding within the program "Photonics Research Germany" more attractive, especially for SMEs applying for first-time. For this purpose, the BMBF has simplified the application and approval process, sped up the consultancy services for SMEs, and redesigned the funding initiative thematically less restricted. Applications of universities and and extra-faculty institutes are eligible in the framework of joint research projects. The assessment dates for project outlines are April 15, and October 15, every year.
